Counselling provides a safe place to talk about your feelings.

You may come because there is a specific issue you want to address e.g. bereavement, relationship problems, redundancy.   You may come because you are feeling depressed or anxious about your life, but don’t know specifically what is causing these difficult emotions.  You may come because you just want to know more about yourself.

I have many years’ experience in working with people who have suffered a loss whether it be a loved one, a job, a relationship or a physical ability.  Sometimes the problem is a loss of trust in oneself or another.  Having someone who will hear you whatever you want to say can help a person to come to terms with these experiences.

Counsellors do not give advice, but are there to listen and understand your world from your point of view.

I am a Person Centred Counsellor.  This means that I believe that you are the expert about your life.  You are an individual and unique. I follow the counselling therapeutic conditions as set out by Carl Rogers.  (Lots of further information on the internet.)
